Kings' Al Barsha launched incredibly exciting sporting developments at the end of term, which will result in sector leading service delivery in September 2016. Firstly, over and above an incredibly generous existing Physical Education staffing complement, Kings have employed Physical Education Teachers in Swimming and Cricket to lead specific academies for Gifted & Talented students in these sports.
Kings' also launched a new soccer academy which will run for students over & above the existing extra-curricular provision in football and Kings' will be working with UAE Touch Rugby to further develop the incredible success in Rugby Union last academic year. Kings' Al Barsha and Kings' Dubai will have a unique Primary School Rugby Squad next year training at the wonderful Al Barsha School facilities. Kings' are also planning to enter a partnership with Dubai's premier netball association to further develop competitive sport in this important area.
Added to the completion of the state of the art Sports Facilities at Kings' Al Barsha, this programme sets Kings' ambition for competitive sport above other schools in Dubai and the UAE. Coming on line for academic year 2016-17 are a Sports Hall with full Basketball Arena, creative arts dance studio, re-surfaced hi tech netball courts, indoor & outdoor Cricket facilities, a full hockey pitch, tennis facilities, extensions to full grass soccer and rugby pitches and a Competition Swimming Pool with an incredible spectator area and additional changing facilities for all sports. We truly believe that there is no school in Dubai or the Middle East that can rival our sports facilities or staffing complement for Sport & Physical Education.
Our ambitions are exemplified by our forthcoming sports trip to Singapore where competitive sports teams in swimming, netball and rugby will compete at international level.
Alan Williamson, Principal at Kings' Al Barsha stated: 'Sport is a particular passion that I hold personally. Competitive sport made a huge difference to my own education encouraging me to represent my school and create a real sense of belonging to that school. In addition, it raised my own levels of inner and self-confidence not to mention the vital importance of improving health & well-being. I want all of this, and more, for students at Kings' Al Barsha. Under the energetic and motivational leadership of our Director of Sport and Physical Education Teams, I'm very confident that Kings' will emerge as the school of choice for parents and students who want the best sports programmers and opportunities in Dubai and the Middle East.'
