Designed for the future, Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba’s secondary school combines the very best teachers, with a wealth of experience of teaching through Key Stages 3 and 4, with best practice from our international community. The secondary curriculum, based on the English National Curriculum, is an exclusive partnership between Kings’ and Cambridge Education. It builds on primary attainments and achievements, where we aim to achieve the highest levels of engagement and excitement through student-led learning initiatives, which capture children’s interests and drive their ambitions. Cambridge Education is held in high esteem around the world. Acknowledged for its high academic standards and its well-rounded approach to education, the curriculum provides students with transferability and the opportunity to gain access to reputable universities worldwide. 

Cambridge International Curriculum

The Cambridge International Curriculum offers a global standard for education, recognised by universities and employers worldwide. It is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach. Together, Cambridge and Kings’ help students to develop an informed curiosity, to think bigger, to reach higher, and to build a lifelong passion for learning. Students gain the essential skills they need for success at university and in their future careers. Our joint approach is based on the belief that education works best when curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment align.

Key Stage 3 (AGE 11-14) – Years 7 – 9

Our highly trained, and passionate teachers, hand-picked from the United Kingdom, come with a wealth of experience of teaching in Key Stage Three, and with a proven track record. Our specialist team delivers the English National Curriculum for Key Stage Three, a broad and balanced curriculum that provides students with essential knowledge and skills across a range of subjects.

All students at Key Stage Three study English, Arabic, Mathematics, Science (combined), Global Perspectives, History, Geography, Art, Design, Technology, Creative and Performing Arts, Music, Physical Education, along with French or Spanish as additional language studies.

Key Stage 4 (AGE 15-16) – Years 10 – 11

Students in KS4 study the core subjects of Arabic A&B, Islamic A&B (where appropriate), Mathematics, English, and Science. Alongside their core subject studies, students also personalise their curriculum by choosing 4 subjects from our KS4 option blocks. Our subject blocks are designed to ensure a breadth of knowledge and skills development across the 2-year GCSE courses. We focus on creative options, entrepreneurial thinking, and cultural capital. Our subject range is as follows: Drama, Art, Music, Dance, Design Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Food and Nutrition, Enterprise, Business Studies, History, Geography, Global Perspectives, French, Spanish, Arabic, Islamic, Physical Education, and Triple Science.

Extra-Curricular Activities

There is a wide variety of extra-curricular activities available for students, these include subject-specific clubs, competitive and non-competitive squads, Exhibition UAE, and many more! Every staff member is required to be involved in an ECA every week, either before school, during lunchtime, or after school. If you have a particular interest that we don’t currently offer, we would be happy to accommodate this.
